Recent Progress - November 2008
The Cridge Park Rescue Group would like to thank everyone for pitching in to help spread the word during the November 15 2008 civic election in Victoria. We’ve made terrific progress in a very short time, including…..
- A motion by Councillor Madoff prior to the election to protect all city parks, including Cridge Park, with appropriate zoning. Supported by the old Council.
- During the election campaign, over 4000 information leaflets regarding the preservation of Cridge Park were distributed city wide.
- An All-Candidates survey was distributed to the candidates and their responses were posted on the Cridge Park Rescue website. The responses demonstrated overwhelming support for retaining Cridge Park as a Park and the historic bowling green within.
- The Cridge Park Rescue Group hosted a very successful all candidates forum at the Church of Our Lord community Hall which went on to serve as the model for others to follow.
- All of the serious mayoralty candidates publicly stated that they are opposed to building an art gallery or children’s museum on Cridge Park.
We’re confident, that with your support, we can keep Cridge Park green.
